The story behind the miracle of Scorpion | Live Scorpions don't bite | History of shrine of Sharfuddin Shah Wilayat

Graves in the shrine
In the previous part of this post, I introduced the shrine of Syed Hussain Sharfuddin Shah Wilayat to you. You came across the miracle and a bit about the holy person. If you missed the post, I suggest you to read it here so that you can understand the reason behind the miracle more precisely.

Read here to know what the miracle is all about: Miracle: Shrine where scorpions can't bite

You read that the live miracle is continuous since the thirteenth-century, when Shah Wilayat Sahab approached Amroha (A city in northern India) as a pious man to spread love, peace and humanity among the people here.
Earlier Amroha was known as Azizpur, which was renamed to Amroha by the saint only. Amroha is famous for mangoes and Rohu fish. When Shah Wilayat Sahab came into Azizpur (now called Amroha), considering the fact of Mangoes and Rohu fish, he renamed the city to Amroha. It’s because Amroha consist of two words- The Mango (Aam) and the Rohu fish. In this way, he found Aam-Rohu (Amroha) the most appropriate name for the city.

Throwing some light over the headline, Shah Wilayat Sahab was a pious saint who had brought a good change in the city. Another native saint, Nasuruddin Shah had a feeling of asking him to leave the city as there’s no need of his presence.

Nasuruddin Shah became anxious and sent a bowl full of water to the saint indicating him to leave as there were already many saints in the city.

As a reply, Shah Wilayat Sahab kept a rose in the bowl and sent it back to the native saint clearly showing that he will live like the rose in the city of Amroha. He indicated the love, peace and humanity, he did bring among the citizens of Amroha.

The conversation, at that time took place in the form of such indications. It was easy for those saints to understand such notes.

Next, the native saint kept a Scorpion in the bowl and returned it to the holy man. Now, this was what led to the live miracle! This act was a curse to the holy saint that ‘Scorpions will crawl on your grave’ by the native saint.
In the reply, Shah Wilayat Sahab quoted, “Surely Scorpions will crawl on my grave, but they won’t cause any harm to my visitors”

The small conversation between the two saints became a live miracle by the grace of almighty God who bestowed his blessings over Shah Wilayat Sahab and has kept his words alive from over nine-centuries.

Another tale tells us that there was a wall of the Shah Wilayat Sahab which had the potential to move!! It was the only way by which the saint used to travel.. The wall is still present in the shrine but needless to say, it no more walks.
